Rasping Your Way to Balancewith Cheryl Gibson and James SimpsonPart 1: November 7, 2010 (10 am start) TBCJoin us for Day 1 in this series of three workshops that will provide you with the knowledge and expertise to do simple maintenance for your horse's feet. Geared to the horse owner who wants optimal balance for his/her unshod horses, it would also be useful for those with broodmares or horses on rest. One of our aims with this series is to establish a clear picture of what a balanced horse and balanced feet look like, and to provide you with a protocol for achieving that goal. PLEASE NOTE! This is NOT a farrier's course, nor do we encourage or give permission to participants to work on other people's horses. This course is a natural extension of the Balanced Hoof workshop. Learn the basic principles on Saturday then practice what you have learned on Sunday! James Simpson (farrier, international judge) and Cheryl Gibson (equine therapist) have worked together for over 25 years formulating a common sense, successful protocol that helps achieve a balanced foundation for the horse's body and therefore optimizes soundness and performance. For information or registration please contact Cheryl Gibson at (905) 659-7223 or by e -mail at info@cedarlanefarm.ca. Cheryl Gibson is a past member of the International Alliance of Healthcare Practitioners and has practised as an Equine Behaviour Specialist for over thirty years. She practised and taught equine Feldenkrais for more than twenty-five years, and developed and practised myofascial release and CranioSacral techniques for horses and companion animals during the last sixteen years. Interest in the physical and mental well-being of the horse and a holistic approach to problem-solving has led to extensive research, development, continuing education and teaching in various therapy modalities including acupuncture, acupressure, acu-ssage, structural anatomy and sports therapy, movement analysis, anatomical kinesiology, proper foot balancing, Touch For Health, Bowen therapy (human and animal), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), energy medicine, homeopathics, herbal remedies, flower essence therapy, Therapeutic Touch, magnetic therapy, T.E.N.S. Quantum Touch, balanced riding techniques, tack fitting and saddle design (producing the SUPREMO custom saddle - designed to work with the moving horse). This body of work plus close consultation with holistic veterinarians and doctors has provided the foundation of Cedar Lane Farm's Equine Sports Therapy and education program. | ||
